Go Big or Go Home

Andrew and I went on our first date in 9 months.  Since sweet Lolo was born we haven't been out on a date alone.  We go on plenty of dates with our sweet daughter in tow, but due to our current place in life and my anxious crazy self, we hadn't yet ventured out alone, until this past weekend.  When I heard Garth was going to be at the Tornado Twister Relief Concert, I knew we just HAD to go.  I have seen Garth two other times, once when I was in the 4th or 5th grade and again 2 years ago in Vegas thanks to my dear friend Alex.  He is amazing in concert!  The best by a long shot!  That is why I knew that I couldn't pass up this rare opportunity to see him in person again.

My friend Abby, my former college roommate all throughout OU, volunteered to watch Lo for us while we went to the concert in Norman.  I was so thankful that someone I trusted was willing to watch her for us, while we went on our first date in a long time and saw one of countrys greatest singers of all time.

Garth and Trisha were AMAZING!  The crowd was not...

The ramp to get up to our seats was at a stand still, no one was moving and Garth was on stage.  Long story short, we went up a different ramp and stood in an aisle for about an hour watching Garth and Trisha, then we left.  And it was still AMAZING!  Even though it took us me, nine months to realize we need to go out on dates alone, I am glad our first date was this one.  One we will never forget.

And I am so thankful that we have such great friends willing to watch our baby.  She was in such great hands and had a blast!

  1. Looks like you all had great seats! We were there too, and I was about ready to turn around mid trip b/c of all the construction and traffic!

Just a side note, b/c I know you ultimately care about Lolo's safety (I totally don't mean to sound like I'm nagging here)- you might check the Chicco specs for harness heigh and I believe the infant insert (under her bum) is supposed to come out at 11 or 14lbs, or something of the sort.

    1. Thanks! I was wondering about that! We never made it to our seats. Just stood in the aisle the entire time we were there. And I didn't take the pics of Garth. Stole them from a website ;) hope u guys had fun!

    2. Sorry, I hope my carseat comment didn't come off the wrong way. I just know that some people out there couldn't care less, but that you would!

Glad you all had fun. I find it very hard to go out without the girls as well, but always feel a little refreshed and revived after we do. Good job mama. Hope you don't go another 9 months before you have another date :)

    3. Oh not at all! I really really appreciate it! I had no clue. Guess that's what the manual is for :) thanks so much! I made the adjustments last night and took the insert out...it's amazing how much better she fits in it, haha! Thanks again!

    4. Oh good! Glad the fit is better. She is just too cute and can't believe she's already 9 months. Isn't cruel has fast time flies by? If you have a second child, it will go even faster :(
