Breakfast Smoothie

Thanks to pinterest, my husband and I got the great idea to start making our own breakfast smoothies a few months ago.  We Andrew has been making them for us for breakfast pretty religiously for the past couple of months.  They are delicious and super nutritious!  They are roughly only around 300 calories and 2 grams of fat.  We use our magic bullet to make them, so they come ready to go after they are blended.  What's in our smoothies you ask?  We Andrew combines....

Oats

Greek Yogurt

Mixed berries (& sometimes bannanas).  We used to buy fresh fruit and add ice to make it colder, but these are frozen, so no ice needed, and much more convenient.

& Spinach - I know what you are thinking...gross!  right?  You can't taste the spinach one bit, it blends up very well and its loaded with antioxidants and vitamins.  Try it!

And there you have it!  Put it all together...

Blend...

And enjoy!

The best part about these is that you can mix and combine whatever you like.  Sometimes he adds peanut butter or nutella, and sometimes he adds Acai berry juice and wheat germ.

You can thank me later ;)  Thanks to my awesome husband for always making these for me and leaving them in the fridge for when I leave for work.  He has even been making them for me when I am on nights, so I have one to drink when I wake up!  I love him!  And I love these smoothies!

  1. found your blog via Pinterest. Would you mind sharing the measurements that you use on each ingredient? I'd just be making 1 smoothie at a time. I also have a magic bullet....

  2. its about 1/4-1/2 cup of oats, about 1/4-1/2 cup of greek yogurt, a handful of frozen fruit, and about 1/8 a cup of spinach. I really just put stuff in and blend and add water as needed to make the consistency easy to blend. hope that helps!
