In One Year...

Andrew and I have had quite the year!  Lets just review, shall we..

In one year, we have...
-found out we were having a baby
-sold our house in Owasso
-moved in with my parents
-left old jobs and started new jobs in Norman
-graduated from college/residency
-bought a new house in Norman and moved
-had a baby
-went on maternity leave
-had to go back to work after having a baby
-resigned from jobs in Norman due to a multitude of circumstances
-moved to Claremore and in with my parents...again
-put our house up for sale :(
-took new jobs again
-looking for a new home...and that is where we are now

Geez!  Here's to a new year...one thats hopefully a little less eventful!

I have been left so confused about all of this.  I just wish I could see in the future but I can't.  I stumbled across a quote this morning that helped a little...

Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards. Soren Kierkkegaard

I have been having a daily struggle with where we are in life right now.  Don't get me wrong, I feel blessed beyond measure, I am just confused!  Then I came across this..

So that's what I am doing, breathing and praying :)

Love & Marriage - The beginning...

I have decided to link up with some bloggers doing the Love & Marriage series.

Today they are all writing about their story of how they met, so here is ours..

Andrew & I met in the 8th grade at a little baseball park in our hometown.  When I met him, I was actually going out with his best friend, it was only for 4 days though, so it really doesn't count.  The day I saw him, I thought he was the cutest boy I had ever seen, no joke.  He had on plaid shorts and shaggy long brown hair and the cutest smile.  I was smitten by this boy.  I broke up with his friend, mainly because I had this huge crush on him, I know, shady, right!?!?  I was only 13 at the time, it happens!

A few nights later, I remember talking to Andrew on the phone.  I don't remember a whole lot about what we talked about, but I do remember him telling me he was "125 pounds, and that is NOT fat!"  All I could think about after that was how much I wish this boy would be my boyfriend.  However, since I "broke up with his best friend," he wouldn't go out with me.  I was crushed!

Time went on, I entered high school, dated a couple boys, enjoyed life, etc.  Then one day, when I was 16, I went to a music festival called Edge Fest with my boyfriend at the time.  It was there that I ran into Andrew again.  I hadn't seen him in a few years, but I remembered him.  He was the same cute brown eyed boy that I had met at the ball park.  Ironically, he remembered me too!  I told him I may be calling him in the near future and that was that.  Months went by, I didn't call.  Then one day I was playing on good ol' AOL.  Out of the blue, Andrew instant messaged me.  What would we have done without instant messaging back in the day?!?

From that day on, Andrew and I became great friends.  We talked on the phone a lot and hung out from time to time.  We also went to my senior prom together!  I have so many great memories from my last two years of high school with him in them!  I went off to college a year before he did and we kind of lost touch, I was dating someone else during that year, but then broke it off with him towards the end.  When I came home from my freshman year of college, with a little persuading from my part, Andrew and I picked up right where we had left off, like nothing had ever happened.  From that moment on, we became inseperable.  It was meant to be.  I just knew I was going to marry this boy from the ballpark!
Throughout the years we had plenty of our share of highs and lows.  What couple doesn't?  We endured a long distance relationship throughout some of our dating, had a break or two, went through some really hard times and some really great times.  In the end, though, we both just knew we were meant to be together, forever.  And one thing is for certian, we always seemed to have the best time togther.  We were together 8 years before we got married.  On November 2, 2007, Andrew proposed, and on July 19th, 2008 we were married.

We lived in Owasso while I finished residency, moved to Norman for a short while after I was done, and our now living back in our hometown trying to figure out where we want to end up.  We went through a lot of stuff before we got married, that I believe has made us into the couple we have become.  Throughout the years we have been together we have traveled a lot together and simply enjoyed each others company.
A couple of years into our marriage we decided we wanted to start a family, after struggling with infertility and enduring a lot of pain and hardship, we finally welcomed the most beautiful little blessing into our life on October 5, 2012.

More to come next week...But for now a few pics of our travels and our little blessing :)

Lolo Meets the Easter Bunny

I took Lolo to see the Easter Bunny this past weekend.  I thought she may be a little scared of him because she has been having a little bit of stranger anxiety...but as you can see from the pictures, she just loved him :)

I LOVE this little chunky monkey of mine.  Just adore her!

Lo - 5 Months

Lolo,

You are 5 months old (March 5)!!...sigh...

How is this possible?  How are you almost 1/2 year old already?  Time must sloooow down!

You are the sweetest cutest little girl.  We love you so very much!  You love to giggle and are very ticklish.  You are especially ticklish on your feet.  You are grabbing at things, and gripping them, switching hands, and putting everything in your mouth.  Drooling like crazy, but no teeth yet!  You have also found your feet and love to grab at them.  Frequently when you wake up from your nap, I find you with your feet high up in the air.  It's the funniest thing!

You have just recently also liked sticking your tongue out and making funny little noises.  You love to talk and are such a vocal little girl.  On your 5 month birthday you rolled over from front to back!  You probably would have rolled over sooner if I would let you on the ground more.  I just love to snuggle you as much as I can...especially since I know I am going back to work soon.   You love to be held while you are standing up on your own.  You are our strong girl!  You tolerate tummy time a little bit longer, still hate it though, but you are doing good at it!

We recently moved from Norman to Claremore.  You handled all the change well!  I have been able to be home with you the past month and have treasured every second of it.  Going back to work again sure is going to be tough!

You are still a great little sleeper!  You sleep from 8-6ish in your pack n play and transitioned from your bassinet like a champ!  No cries here, thank goodness ;)  Naps are a different story...we are working on getting you to nap in your pack n play during the day.

You are taking the bottle without the awful dreaded fight that you used to do.  So thankful for this!

You recently went for your 4 month checkup, just a few weeks late...You saw Dr. Barnes and he just thinks you are perfect!  You weighed 15 lbs 15 ounces and were 24 1/2 inches long.

We love you so so much little girl!  This has been the best 5 months of our lives and we just adore you and love watching you grow and meet new milestones.

xoxo

Lolo's Baptism

Lolo got baptized on March 2nd just shy of her 5 month birthday.  Even though it was in the evening during her nap time, she was an angel during the entire thing.  She looked so precious in the little gown she wore.  It was the same gown that I wore during my baptism 30 years ago, my sister and my niece Lexi also wore it.

Lolo with her Godparents

So blessed to celebrate this special day with those that we love.

Lo's 1st Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from our little chunky monkey!

Lo's first Valentine's Day was perfect!  Andrew, myself, and Lolo got to hang out together all day.  We went shopping and then Andrew made the most delicious steak dinner I have ever had, ever.  I didn't even want ketchup!
